Ah.... the Halo series, one of the only reasons to buy an Xbox back in the day. Now, six years after Combat Evolved ’s epic release, the long awaited Halo 3 arrived, along with many features and new things that make it a worthwhile experience.

I won’t lie, but Halo 3 ’s Campaign mode was pretty disappointing for all of the hype that it garnered. First of all, we only got to play 9 short levels. Sure, the ending was pretty epic, but what about the rest? Some of the levels weren’t designed well, such as the level "Cortana", which is just a "kill Flood, then advance" type of level. The levels do offer quite a variety: there’s some levels that emphasize on driving, while others are just "reach this place so we can tell you to go to another one".

Master Chief

However, the campaign provided some energetic fun, since the game comes packed with a 4-player co-op, which can make those legendary runs a little more satisfying. The game does explain the story pretty well with its fanatastic voice acting and story telling.

Our Rating for Halo 3 Review
9.5
Replay Value
Campaign may not have the most replay to it, but you will go back to multiplayer for hours and hours of intense combat.
8.9
Graphics
Halo 3 may not have the best expressions and human faces, but the gorgeous environments just make up for it.
9.6
Sound
Extremely realistic and godly, very few games can even compete with this.
9.6
Multiplayer
For some, it’s the only reason to play, for others, just a great deal of fun. However you feel, multiplayer is just perfect and full of countless hours of fun.
7.5
Single Player
Not bad, but not great either. More levels and more interactions would have helped add more excitement to the meat of the story.
9.0
Controls
Some of the easiest controls to pick up on any nextgen system, Bungie has created a wonderful formula.
9.5
Overall
Halo 3 is a fantastic experience anyone can easily enjoy, it’s just one of those titles that you need to own if you have an Xbox 360.

Very well written, Jc. It makes me want to play the game again. If only it weren’t hidden under tons of other games...
