While we liked MLB 2k8, we found that the game was plagued by framerate issues, particularly in the field. We weren’t alone. Our prayers have been answered, however. Today, 2k released a patch fixing a number of things, but number one on that list was the framerate issues.
The patch focused mainly on the framerate, but other things were fixed. A glitch where some users playing Franchise Mode as the San Diego Padres could not continue has been addressed, as has problems with online play.

In our short time playing after the patch, we can attest that it is rather effective. While there is still the occasional hiccup with the framerate, it’s almost like playing an entirely new game. We didn’t notice any differences in our online play, and also can not comment on the Padres glitch as none of us had franchises with the Padres.
Gamers will be automatically prompted to download the update upon firing up MLB 2k8 provided they have Xbox Live.
